Sooski
Sooski is a multi disciplinary artist, architect and music producer based in London. Her music has been described as experimental electro pop.
Being born in Sydney, raised in Tehran and with her formative years spent in London, Sooski draws from a wide range of influences in her work. The traditional music, stories and art of Persia are intertwined in her mind with the sights and sounds of modern day London.
In 2019 Sooski released her self-produced debut EP “SONGS FROM THE YARD, Vol. 1”. It gained an impressive amount of attention from the likes of BBC 1XTRA, Complex Uk and Clash Magazine.
Upon its release, the EP was ranked in the top 5 EP of the week by Jamz Supernova.
Complex described Sooski’s style as “unrestrained and free-flowing” and the project as a “soothing distraction from the world.”
“The producer’s work married astute use of sound to a veil of mystery, with her improvisatory live performances showcasing a wide-range of ideas. Re-contextualising club tropes, her barbed electronics have a deeply physical edge, while there’s also a fondness for addictive melody.” Clash Magazine.
Sooski has been in the studio working on her new sound which continues to build on her previous work, maintaining the ambient sonic textures with a heavy dose of mystique and allure in the lyrics and subject matter. Sooski’s latest single “Mood Swings” is an accumulation of her love for experimental/avantgarde hip hop, alternative R&B and electronica music whilst also evoking her love for light and easy melodies.
