Do you like to get crafty and learn something new? If so, this workshop is for you!
Join scientists at the Centre for Gene Therapy and Regenerative Medicine (CGTRM) at King’s College London to learn all about stem cells whilst embroidering them!
We will begin the session with a brief introduction to the CGTRM, and to embroidery for those new to the craft, before moving on to embroidering real research images from the CGTRM that have been translated into gorgeous embroidery templates for you to create your own artwork.
Grab a cup of tea and a biscuit (or two!) and relax whilst discovering what stem cells are and how they are being applied in research and future therapies.
Materials provided at the session:
• Tea & biscuits!
• Fabric to embellish (or bring your own t-shirt/tote bag to decorate!)
• Cell template
• Embroidery hoop
• Scissors
• Needle
• Coloured embroidery threads
You will be able to take the fabric, template, hoop, needle, and some threads away with you after the session.
We want to see your creations! Please share your work on social media with the #StitchNStem hashtag and tag us @KCLStemCells.
You are also welcome to join even if you are not planning to get involved in the making. Sit back with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy listening to all these fantastic insights.
