FREE Walk for Wellbeing

  • HMS Belfast The Queen's Walk London, England, SE1 2JH United Kingdom (map)

Solvitur ambulando — it is solved by walking.

Saint Augustine once remarked on the benefits of walking—a truth that resonates even more in today’s digital age, where many spend long hours at desks or working remotely, often leading to physical and mental strain. Walking, however, offers an effective remedy.

Join a lunchtime stroll through the London Bridge neighbourhood for a refreshing hour of greenery, history, and cultural insights. The route follows the River Thames and leads into hidden back streets, highlighting pocket parks and the contributions of community pioneers who have bolstered green spaces and biodiversity amidst urban challenges. Along the way, learn about the generations of immigrant communities whose vibrant contributions have shaped this area, ending at the historic grounds of Guy’s Hospital, a renowned centre for healthcare and research.

The walk aims to inspire further exploration of local wellness activities, fostering a sense of connection and belonging. Open to residents, workers, and students alike, this inclusive tour is wheelchair-accessible and will proceed rain or shine, so please come prepared.

Meeting point: The Queen’s Walk, in front of HMS Belfast, opposite Morgan’s Lane. Look for the team member wearing a London Bridge badge.

The walk will be led by Sarah Williams-Robbins, a former director with children’s mental health charity Place2Be, with a background in public health promotion.
