Charles Holland presents the Tooley Street Triangle, London’s new landmark
A striking new landmark has appeared at the Tooley Street Triangle, transforming a busy but dull traffic island opposite the main entrance to London Bridge station.
The Tooley Street Beacon, complete with a large local floor map, was unveiled in July, designed by Charles Holland Architects and commissioned by Team London Bridge.
In this recording of an online discussion between Charles Holland and Tamsie Thomson, Director of the London Festival of Architecture (LFA), you’ll find out about the design and realisation of this unique landmark, and how good design is so integral to the renewal of the public realm across London and beyond, so important as city centres tentatively welcome back workers and visitors.
