Team London Bridge formally recognised as an open and trusted grant maker

London Bubble are one of Team London Bridge’s current grant recipients.

Throughout our work, we constantly seek to improve our processes. We have been administrating our Grants programme for over 15 years and have spent this time listening to grantees and learning best practice from fellow funders, allowing us to better understand what the applicants need from us to succeed.

We are delighted to announce that Team London Bridge has been recognised by the Institute for Voluntary Action and Research as a Flexible Funder, meaning we adopt more open and trusting practices that make life easier for the groups that we fund.

This is also in line with the recommendations for funders that came from Community Southwark’s most recent State of the Sector report. You can see all IVAR Flexible Funders on their website here.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the long-term involvement and dedication of our Task Group, made up of business representatives from: Jacobs, Anthony Gold, PwC, London Bridge City, Southwark Council, Norton Rose Fulbright, Sapphire Systems and one local resident. If you’re interested in joining this group and utilising some of your employer supported volunteering allowance, do get in touch with sofia@teamlondonbridge.co.uk for more information.

Over 100 grantmakers have signed up to IVAR’s eight commitments to funding charities in an open and trusting way.

Team London Bridge is committed to building links with the local Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) inside and around what has become a vibrant business district. We appreciate that not everyone has the time or energy to devote to first finding and then funding a good cause that they identify with. This is why we set up the Building Bridges and Building Communities funds. In this way every business that contributes to Team London Bridge through the BID levy can be part of a collective Responsible Business policy for the area.
