'A Great Place to Work' Awards: London Bridge Businesses Recognise Achievements in Sustainability, Social Impact, and Safety

Team London Bridge businesses come together to celebrate achievements at the ‘A Great Place to Work’ event

Employees in London Bridge have told us that it makes them happy, energised and excited to come to work in our area. Our Team London Bridge ‘A Great Place to Work’ Awards 2025 focused on three themes that are at the core of what makes it such a brilliant place to be based.

Safety and Security, Sustainability, and Social Impact are just three of the areas that businesses in London Bridge have chosen to fund additional services in, via the BID levy, and entrust Team London Bridge to deliver them. With businesses voting again in spring 2025 to decide whether to continue this work for the coming five years, the evening provided the perfect time to celebrate what we have achieved together so far.

Around 150 members of the local business community gathered at ‘The View From The Shard’ to recognise businesses, service providers and individuals whose achievements make London Bridge ‘A Great Place to Work’, celebrating projects, milestones, commitments and personal successes in these areas.

Net Zero Steering Group members Steve Johnson (Hilson Moran) and Katrina Nardiello (Protiviti) proudly presented the awards.

Sustainability

With 51 signatories to date, the London Bridge Decarbonisation Charter is a collective effort for businesses in the BID area to accelerate the transition to net zero. We celebrated 13 businesses that showed outstanding leadership and achievement in 2024 under the themes set out in the charter:

Limited Edition Honey from Potters Fields Park was presented to businesses as a special recognition of their outstanding social impact.

Social Impact

Social Impact is something that Team London Bridge businesses take very seriously. The commitments made can be wide ranging and adapted to whatever resources an organisation can devote to their chosen project. This passion for giving back saw us recognise 57 businesses in total for their work in 2024, grouped together in the areas of:

  • Giving Locally – volunteering your time

  • Giving Locally – donations for Gift Back and in-kind

  • Responsible Employers – for London Living Wage Accreditation

Congratulations to everyone mentioned on the night. You can read more about our Social Impact projects here

Director of Security & Community Safety, Nick Morant, proudly presented the Safety and Security Awards.

Safety and Security

The additional security and safety services provided by Team London Bridge require strong partnerships with our many stakeholders. Fortunately, the area has outstanding expertise, both organisationally and individually, which allows the community to provide a robust response to the challenges of keeping a busy, central London district safe.

Winners from the Safety and Security sector this year were chosen from five categories;

  • Outstanding Security Team of the Year - Tower Bridge

  • Security Officer of the Year - Steven Caris, London Bridge City

  • Community Engagement Award - Paul Clarke, EY

  • Best Innovation in Security Practices - Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

  • Life Saver of the Year - Mate Toth, Shard Quarter
