Joint letter written to the Government on behalf of Southwark businesses

As we head into another national lockdown, a joint letter has been written to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The Leader of Southwark Council, the Cabinet Member for Jobs, Culture & Skills and the chair of Team London Bridge alongside four Business Improvement Districts in our borough have asked that Alok Sharma expands on the Government’s strategy on engaging and supporting businesses in London.

The letter calls for consideration on the following points:

  •  Clarity on timing and support for planning

  • Rateable Value Threshold review

  • A collective partnership approach
